I'd been waiting for months for a used copy of Jam Sessions to fall into my store. A couple of weeks ago, one was there. I snatched it up immediately. Of course, when I got it home, I found out that the game wasn't at all what I thought it would be.
I thought it would be a rhythm-based game. I like rhythm-based games, as you know. But Jam Sessions was a huge let-down. It wasn't a rhythm game. It was just a game that gave you some sheet music and expected you to play it. Practicing chords, a selection of songs, and... rhythm.
Needless to say, I was very displeased, and I returned the game and got my money back. My co-workers were a bit surprised, because I had been saying to them, 'If you see a used Jam Sessions come in, please hold it for me.' And here I was, returning it. All I said was that it wasn't what I was expecting, I didn't like it, and please get the damn thing away from me.
I put that money to good use when a copy of Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations came in that same night. I snagged it. It was the only game out of the four that I didn't have. Now... I have them all. Hooray!
If you want to know... I haven't played them all. I never finished the last case on the first game, and just barely started the second game. However, I finished Apollo Justice in a little less than a week and was amazed by it. In a good way. I liked it a ton! I was stunned by the graphics, especially in the opening with the cards falling down. That was the point my mouth started hanging open.
That being said, most of my friends have sworn that Apollo Justice doesn't hold a candle to the original series. I do agree that Apollo is not really a lead character... he's more of a shadow to Phoenix. So, I guess the next thing for me to do is to play all the other games and see for myself which plots I like better.
My friend bought the second Ouendan at Pink Godzilla, though. I'm incredibly jealous! Though she has promised that she would lend it to me (in the future, I'll probably get my own copy, anyway). We saw Bartender at the store, as well, but our curiosity didn't feel like paying for it.
