case 015 - i'm way too excited for this game

The FE blog on wordpress put up a scan of Marth and Sheeda from the new DS game. Check it out! They look terrific. I'm so psyched!

Marth is still lovely, though more manly? How interesting! /fangirl

case 014 - $500 poorer

On Sunday, a new shipment of 80gb PS3's came into the store. Against my better judgment, I splurged and bought one. 500 dollars for an 80% backwards-compatible PS3 plus old!Snake game. Yes. Disgaea 3 seems ten times more exciting now that I have one. I can't wait.

Haven't plugged it in yet because I've been busy. I'm still debating on whether I should play MGS4 now, or wait until I play the other ones. The latter would probably be better, but that means I have some serious gaming to do. I don't want to start anything else until I finish Path of Radiance, and then I also have Marth's DS game. After that, it'll be time for school to start up again.

Sigh. So many games, so little time. I'll see if I can plow through more of Ike's game this week. I do not like losing characters, so I have to keep resetting and do battles over again. And sometimes, these tactical battles can take up to an hour long. I get disheartened after awhile! It's a shame I can't grind. Because I'd be making Ike so damn buff. Blast.

Also, I managed to finally play Guitar Hero on the DS. I was bad at Guitar Hero in the first place (because I don't practice or own any of the games), so this was just a massacre. No one was in the store, aside from me and a few employees, so I stood there, trying This Love on the easiest level. It was hard, and my hand cramped. I don't think I'll be buying this one. Guitar Hero and Rockband don't interest me, I suppose.

case 013 - onward to victory!

Not a post all through June? What is wrong with me?

I have been grabbed hold of by Fire Emblem, and it's not letting me go. I was able to find the two GBA games that were released in America in my store, so I got used to the basics of the games (I'd never played a FE game before) and am currently playing both at the same time. Er, on and off. Eliwood's game seems a lot harder than Eph's and Eir's game. I wonder if it is because you can't choose a difficulty level. I'm not sure.

Other than playing those two, I added a third FE game into the mix when I started up Ike's game for the GC. I like it a lot, but I'm just an Ike fan, so...

I can't say much about any of the games, since I'm not that far into them. The battles are tedious and the rewards are few. The main thing I hate about the FE games is that, if a party member dies, they die permenantly. While I knew about this rule before I played the games, it still bothers me. I'm used to rpgs (like Disgaea) where you can revive your members even if they lose all their HP. So I wind up resetting and doing a lot of my battles over, which means I can be stuck on a chapter for over two hours. Ugh.

There are other games that use this rule, right? I probably should never play them! It's hard enough with FE.

Releases! Gamestop is now letting you preorder Disgaea 3: Abscence of Justice. Hooray! It's about time. The release date is... I'm not sure. I've heard it's coming out in August, and then in September. So, I'd say... somewhere around there.

I haven't bought a PS3 yet. So I'll probably hold off on D3 until I have one. I want to buy the new 80 gig. But those are hard to find now, and I don't have the money for it anyway.

The DS port of Disgaea is also coming out in the States soon. September, perhaps? I still think Disgaea on the DS is ridiculous. I won't be picking it up, especially since I have it on the PSP already, and D3 is coming.

My fall DS game will be Marth's FE remake, coming out in August in Japan. I am so excited for this, and plan on preordering it within the next couple of weeks. Nintendo finally released some box art for this game... It's odd. Nintendo is being very stingy with their information on this game. I've looked all over NicoVideo for gameplay videos, and even the official site doesn't have a trailer. Is this bad, especially with the release date so close? It's sure frustrating.
